    Weekly markets in Jávea

From the bustling Thursday market in the old town to the artisan stalls at the port — Jávea's markets are a great way to spend a morning.

Markets are a fixture of life on the Costa Blanca and Jávea is no exception. Fresh produce, olives, cheese, clothing, flowers and local crafts fill the squares on set days of the week, and several seasonal markets run along the seafront in summer.

Arrive early — by mid-morning the best stalls get busy and parking near the old town fills up quickly.

The Thursday market (Mercado de Jávea)

The main weekly market takes place every Thursday morning in the old town, around Avenida del Pla. Expect roughly 8:30 to 13:30.

    • Fresh fruit, vegetables and olives directly from local producers.
    • Clothing, leather goods, household items and plants.
    • Spanish cheeses, hams and bakery stalls.
    • Free parking nearby fills early — arrive before 10:00 if you can.

    Seasonal markets and night markets

Between June and September, several other markets pop up. The artisan night market at Arenal runs along the seafront several evenings a week; the port hosts smaller arts and crafts markets at weekends.

    Tips for visitors

Bring cash (small notes), a sturdy bag and sun protection. Prices at produce stalls are usually fixed, but a small discount on bulk buys is common.
